A couple of weeks ago I shared a picture of my grandmother and my mother when she was a little girl at the beach. This picture is not as "vintagy" as those were. This is me at the beach in 1955. What I am proud of is that my daughter has a framed picture like this in her living room. See the picture below. Isn't that sweet?
Looks like I'm stuck in 1955. The header picture was also taken that year. I'm really not. I'm glad to be living in 2008. I will have to admit I looked better then however. But, I am a lot older and wiser now. Well, older at least.

ReplyDeleteI love that bathing suit! And, your Knott's picture cracks me up. I have a bunch of similar photos of various family members and friends sitting with the saloon girls. I think I have some of the cowboys too.

ReplyDeleteI love your pictures. Knotts Berry Farm was free back them, and a favorite hang out of mine when I was in high school. I don't think I was as brazen as you, sitting on that cowboy's lap! But I had bangs.
ReplyDeleteI can see why your daughter wants to display that picture of you in a bathing suit. If it were me, I'd blow it up and have them everywhere...well, maybe not, but really, you were a very pretty teenager.
BTW, there is one thing I miss here in Texas, and that's boysenberry jam. No one here has even heard of it, and forget boysenberry pie.
I would want that beautiful picture in MY living room, too! :)

ReplyDeleteI thought it looked familiar. We spent a lot of days at Huntington Beach and Newport Beach growing up. My sister and her husband live in Huntington Beach. My husband and I used to live in Huntington beach in the late seventies and early 80's. Blessings...

That's a fabuoous picture of you! The white/black suit and the buildings in the background make it very artistic. I think there is a similar one of my mom somewhere that I am going to steal and copy to frame!

I love the pics of my mom from the 40s, but she would die if I put them in a frame; for some reason she doesn't like the way she looked, but she was as beautiful as you!
