LOVE

Valentine's Day is a few days away. I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my "Valentine". Some men are not romantic. Some men don't even think about getting their wife anything for Valentines's Day or any other special day. My hubby has always given me nice gifts, taken me to dinner and many times on a special "get away" on special days. We have had a lot of extra expenses lately (large ones). This morning we were discussing it and he said he hopes we don't have any more unexpected expenses any time soon. I told him we could forget about my Valentine present. He said "Oh, no", very forcefully. I know he is not about to do that. Am I blessed or what? Oh yeah. That's for sure. Thank you, God, for bringing us together all those many years ago.

Silly Valentine

Thought my blogging friends might get a kick out of this video of Clif and me. It's less than two minutes long. You might think it's two minute too long. LOL.  You will need to turn my music off on the sidebar.

I LOVE US

It's that time of year again when people are thinking "Love". As I mentioned in my introduction on Spiritual Sundays this week, the newest thing to tell the one you love is not "I love you", but "I love us," meaning I love us together.

So, what does God say about love? Many books have been written about it. The greatest book written about love is the Bible. In fact, the two most important commandments are both about love. The first one is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind and the second one is to love your neighbor as yourself.

I love I Corinthians' definition of love.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (New International Version, ©2010)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

So, back to the subject of this post ― I LOVE US. I love us together, meaning my blogging friends. To think that just a little over 3 years ago, I didn't know any of you. Well, maybe one or two or three. Most of you I had not met. Now there are so many of you out there in blogland who have blessed my life. I love all of you.

Thought I would also share with you this picture of hubby and me over 52 years ago as we were leaving the church after our wedding. I LOVE US.

Of course I'm sharing this on Spiritual Sundays, and since Beverly has included red in Pink Saturday, I think I'll share this for Pink Saturday as well. My Valentine Sweetheart

This is my Valentine Sweetheart.

We will celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary in July.

Here we are in the “get away” car after the wedding.

We celebrated last Valentines Day at a resort in Sedona. We wanted to go somewhere special this year, but my knee still won't allow for much walking and anywhere you go there is quite a lot of walking involved. Maybe next year.

Show & Tell

Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, my thoughts have turned to hearts. I love hearts. I have quite a lot of Brighton jewelry. Almost all their jewelry includes hearts in some fashion. When you buy their jewelry, they always put it in a darling little heart shaped tin. I had a whole bunch of these little tins that I gave away. I kept a few. I’ve been trying to think of ways to use them. The first thing I thought of was a good place to store straight pins and safety pins. Button boxes is a good idea. I just put them on my vanity dresser to look pretty. I bought the round pink tin at a garage sale several years ago because I thought it was pretty. I wonder what it contained when it was new. My best bet is CHOCOLATES. I display it in my doll room.
