From a Hot Tub to a Pool

After I posted the photos of our hot tub in CA a few days ago and mentioned that now we don't have a hot tub but we have a pool, I decided to post a picture of that pool. Do I look young in this picture? It was taken about 5 years after the hot tub picture - about 20 years ago. No, I thought about posting a more recent picture, but decided "no". lol.  Notice the sea gull at the back of the pool? It was also in the hot tub picture. It is still out there by the pool looking a little weather worn by now. Oh, and the blue and white umbrella came with us when we moved as well. It lasted a long time. I just noticed the bird bath and cement bunny. They came with us too. Bet they wonder what happened to that nice cool shady back yard. Actually this back yard is pretty shady now, and it's cool (in the winter time). We planted a small tree in the corner behind the grass. Now it has gotten so large and the palm trees have grown so that the whole pool is in the shade in the mornings (for awhile).

Thanks for humoring me and reading this post. My Spiritual Sundays post is on the Charlotte's Weblog blog this week. If you have not seen it I invite you to go there. http://char72.wordpress.com/

EPHESUS REVISITED

If you did not see my last post I hope you will go there and look at it first. I promised to post some photos today that we took when we were there in 1978.

The first picture is the facade of the library that was being restored. You can see all the scaffolding in this picture. I was glad to see the one in the video where the restoration was complete.
Wouldn't be fun if we could go back in time and go inside the library. The "books" would look a lot different.
Many tourists were walking down this road. You can see the library at the end. There were columns and statues on each side.
Our group was gathered for a devotional. Guess where Charlotte was. Well, somebody had to take the picture.
I can't believe I climbed all the way to the top. I sure couldn't do it now. Of course I was 31 years younger then.

The marble they used in these buildings and statues is so beautiful.
I thought this was interesting - a public toilet. Makes me think of the old outhouses.

Thank you for letting me share my memories and photos with you. This trip to Ephesus was part of a Mediterranean cruise. We also went to Israel, Egypt, and Greece. I have posted a few of the Israel photos in the past.

A CHALLENGE FROM MS. DAISY

Jean (Ms. Daisy of The Daisy Chain) tagged me to go to my 6th picture folder on my computer, choose the 6th picture there and do a blog about it. The 6th folder holds pictures from Sedona. I did this challenge some time ago and I have posted this picture before in a post about Sedona, but I think it is an interesting picture and I'm sure not everybody has seen it, so here it is again. I love this work of art. There are many bronze statues in and around Sedona, AZ. We found this one on the outskirts of town as we were driving there.

This challenge is a fun thing to do, so if you haven't done it before or if you haven't done it lately, I am passing the challenge on to you.
