54 YEARS
I'm glad God instituted marriage. Here are a few scriptures on that subject.
- Genesis 2:24
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Genesis 2:23-25 (in Context) Genesis 2 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations - Matthew 19:5
and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’ ?
Matthew 19:4-6 (in Context) Matthew 19 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations - Mark 10:7
‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
Mark 10:6-8 (in Context) Mark 10 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations - Ephesians 5:31
“For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”
Ephesians 5:30-32 (in Context) Ephesians 5 (Whole Chapter) Other Translations
You really cannot improve on God's plan although people do keep trying to change it.
I posted the following video/book a couple of years ago but thought I'd share it again.

HOSANNA IN THE HIGHEST
See How Your King Comes
12-15The next day the huge crowd that had arrived for the Feast heard that Jesus was entering Jerusalem. They broke off palm branches and went out to meet him. And they cheered: Hosanna!
Blessed is he who comes in God's name!
Yes! The King of Israel!
Jesus got a young donkey and rode it, just as the Scripture has it:
No fear, Daughter Zion:
See how your king comes,
riding a donkey's colt.
Jesus got a young donkey and rode it, just as the Scripture has it:
No fear, Daughter Zion:
See how your king comes,
riding a donkey's colt.
16The disciples didn't notice the fulfillment of many Scriptures at the time, but after Jesus was glorified, they remembered that what was written about him matched what was done to him.

SO FAR ABOVE
When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! - Psalm 8:3-9 (KJV)

"O Lord, Our Lord." Do you know that song? The above scripture was the inspiration for the song. I memorized it when I was 12 or 13 years old. The youth choir at our little church memorized all the songs we sang because our leader didn't want us holding a book when we "performed". I loved this song then and I still do.
This video has been around for awhile and I think I have shared it in the past, but I think it goes well with the scripture in Psalms.

PINK SATURDAY
It has been awhile since I've participated in Pink Saturday. I do love and appreciate Beverly for her faithfulness to that meme. She makes lots of people happy with all that pinkness that is shared. Click HERE to go to How Sweet the Sound for links to lots of pink posts.
I wanted to share this very very short video (8 seconds long) today. I love pink and I love pink flowers.

Beverly has reminded us that October is breast cancer awareness month. October is also my birthday month. To celebrate my birthday on the 5th we drove up to beautiful Sedona, AZ to spend the day. I wore my pink hat because I needed to keep the sun off my face. I've started a round of Carac cream to get rid of skin cancer cells. My face is getting redder every day. It doesn't really show up in this picture. A pink top seemed appropriate for the occasion so I wore that too. Here's a picture. I also wore a pink cross. For those of you who follow Spiritual Sundays this picture was taken outside the chapel in the header picture for that blog. Such a beautiful place. When we visited the chapel this time we bought a cross made from the red rock. I'm planning to share a picture of it on Spiritual Sundays.
Happy Pink Saturday to everyone who shares there. No no - Happy Pink Saturday to everyone, not just those who share.

OPEN MY EYES
A FAVORITE PRAYER OF HELEN STEINER RICE
I pray God will open the eyes of my heart to see others as He sees them. Even more important is to have eyes that see Him. This is also my prayer and I think the video expresses it very well.
To everyone who came here from Spiritual Sundays you have my heartfelt thanks. If not, I hope you will visit Spiritual Sundays. I promise you that you will be blessed.
God, open my eyes so I may see
And feel Your presence close to me.
Give me strength for my stumbling feet
As I battle the crowd on life's busy street.
And widen the vision of my unseeing eyes,
So in passing faces I'll recognize
Not just a stranger, unloved and unknown.
But a friend with a heart that is much like my own.
Give me perception to make me aware
That scattered profusely on life's thoroughfare
Are the best gifts of God that we daily pass by
As we look at the world with an unseeing eye.
I pray God will open the eyes of my heart to see others as He sees them. Even more important is to have eyes that see Him. This is also my prayer and I think the video expresses it very well.

Thank You to Tim Hansel by Ray Boltz
I did not know until a comment was made on my last post that Tim Hansel had died. So I looked it up online and found out he died in 2009. Then I found this video that was made in tribute to him. I love Ray Boltz and have always liked this song. Tim Hansel is responsible for a lot of "Dancin'" here on earth, and now he is dancin' in heaven. Thank you Tim Hansel for your wonderful example and fantastic books. Thank you Ray Boltz for your beautiful music.

1940s
A friend sent the link to this video highlighting the 1940s. I found it interesting because I was a kid during that time. My picture in the header was made in the late '40s. Even if you were not even born yet, I think you will enjoy watching it. Be sure to have your sound turned on and click the following link: The 1940s (Before you click on the link you will need to turn my blog music off.) If you enjoy that video - and even if not - you might want to watch the one for the 1950s. That one brought back a lot of memories for me too.

JONAH
This video was e-mailed to me by an old friend. I thought it was so cute and quite amazing that this little girl could tell the story so well that I wanted to share it with you today. It definitely should put a smile on your face, as it did mine. (You may need to turn up your sound to hear it well.)

GOD MOVES IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS
After a lengthy bout with despair, severe depression and suicide attempts, writer and poet William Cowper (1731-1800) discovered comfort in God's providence, which led him to write "Shining Out of Darkness".
God moves in a mysterious way,
His wonders to perform;
He plants his footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill,
He treasures up his bright designs,
And works his sovereign will.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
The following video is a different tune than the one I am familiar with, but I think it is beautiful, and the video is beautiful.
I know in my own life events that seemed catastrophic at the time turned out to be a wonderful blessing. I'm sure this is true in everyone's life. Think back and remember when God worked in a mysterious way in your life.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO BY STEVE HARVEY
A Steve Harvey show where he imagines what it might be like to have the honor of introducing Jesus Christ when he returns...
A Facebook friend shared this video today. I was amazed and thrilled at the response the audience gave to comedian Steve Harvey's explanation of how he would introduce Jesus. It is well worth the three minutes it takes to watch it. I have posted some negative things lately about our culture. This is such a positive one that I had to share it.
