NEW PROGRAM

Thought I was going to pay $5.00 for a new program I just downloaded. Guess what? It was on sale for 99¢. So what is this new program you ask? It's called iSplash. It's a Mac program so don't know if it is available for PC. So what does it do? It turns a color photo into black and white and then you can color in the part you want colored. The picture of me in the header picture is an example. I just colored my hat pink. The rest is black and white. (I did add a little sepia tone to the whole header.) Here's another example. This time I colored my blouse and left the rest black and white. (Faded frame added with another program called Flare.)

And the next one I just colored my necklace and top.

It just occurred to me this would be good to share for Pink Saturday. Maybe I will.

OK. So I decided I will share this for Pink Saturday and add another photo. This one is pink bougainvillea in our back yard growing by a palm tree. I just colored the pink part.

The bracts (not blossoms) start out orange and then turn pink.

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY!

Thanks again to Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for hosting Pink Saturday each week.

SAFARI vs. OPERA

Safari is the browser that came with my computer. I thought it was very good and still do. Then I downloaded Opera to give it a try because I'm always experimenting with something on the computer. I didn't use it much because I had a problem with it when I did postings for my blogs. So I quit using it altogether for a long time. Then one day I tried it again. There was an update for it so I downloaded that. Then - I was amazed. Now I'm completely sold on Opera. I thought Safari was fast, but Opera is definitely faster. Most things come up instantly. Also, Opera has so many neat/cool features. I was tempted to try Firefox. Clif uses it on his computer and I definitely like it better than Internet Explorer, but I decided to leave well enough alone and use Opera mostly and Safari occasionally. Who knows, one of these days I'll probably let the curiousity get the best of me and I'll give Firefox a try. There is just so much good stuff on these computers.

Have a great day!

USING PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS

In my last post I recommended a program I have on my computer called Lineform. I mentioned that I have Photoshop but hardly ever use it because it is so complicated. Well, I got to thinking that it was kind of silly to have a good program like Photoshop and not know how to use it so I started experimenting a little with it and came up with this header. There is soooo much to learn about Photoshop, but I am determined to at least be able to use it some.

I had some sheet music photos that I downloaded from the internet and it just occurred to me that I have some sheet music in my piano bench, so I found the one I used in the background today and scanned it. I did use my Lineform program to make it pink. Also used the Lineform program to add the title to the header. Just can't get away from that little Lineform program. LOL

Hope you are having a great week.

P.S. In case you're interested, I took the photo in the header right after we moved in AZ about 20 years ago.

LINEFORM

If you have a Mac computer, I have a recommendation. I have a program on my computer that I couldn't do without. It's called Lineform. It is so easy to use and I use it almost every day for something. I just created this header using the program and also the background. There is so much neat stuff available on the internet that it is fun to pull it all together and create something. It also gives me a chance to use some of my old photos. I used to do scrapbooking, and then I discovered how much easier and more fun it is to do that kind of thing on the computer. I also use Photoshop some, but it is pretty complicated. Lineform, on the other hand, is so simple. I wonder why they don't make this program for the PC? I think they used to but don't anymore.

I LEARNED SOMETHING NEW

I visited Hootin' Anni's blog today. I had not been there in awhile. I should go there more often. She has a very interesting blog and I usually learn something. At the very bottom of her blog she gave instructions on how to do a mouse over so that the title of a picture appears. I tried it. It works. Here's an example. Put the mouse over my picture and you will see my name.
