I LOVE BAGELS

If you saw my facebook comment this morning, you know I went to Einstein Bros. Bagels this morning and bought a dozen bagels. I plan to freeze most of them. Don't think I want to eat them all today. lol  I couldn't believe how many people were in that little shop. There were about two dozen people eating in and there were about a dozen or more people in line to buy take out and eat in items.

I am completely "spoiled" by eating these bagels. I used to buy bagels at the grocery store and other places, but now I only want Einstein's. If there is one close to you and you like bagels, you should go to their website and get a 25% off coupon.

On a more serious note, many of my blogging friends need prayers right now. Two that come immediately to mind are Joyce who will have gall bladder surgery next Thursday and Cheryl who is having serious problems and is scheduled for an MRI this afternoon. I hope you will join me in praying for these two dear ladies.
p.s. I like cupcakes too, but Einstein's doesn't make them.

Now That's a Cannoli

We spent a whole day touring Boston, walking and riding a trolley. We rode awhile and walked awhile, rode awhile, and walked again. We were on and off the trolley all day. At the end of the day we were very tired, but finished off the day at a neat little pastry shop called Mike's. We ate our first cannolis there. We didn't actually even know exactly what a cannoli was, but we were eager to find out, and we were not disappointed. They were delicious. Clif's was covered in chocolate.

I thought the reflection in the mirror was interesting. My, Charlotte, what a big mouth you have. LOL
My Blue Monday post featuring blue buildings in Rockport, MA is on Charlotte's Weblog.

SPRINKLES CUPCAKES

There is a new little shop across from the Scottsdale Mall called Sprinkles. All they sell is cupcakes. Everytime we go to that mall we say we should stop by Sprinkles and buy a cupcake to share.  Well, today we did stop by there but the cupcakes all looked so good that we decided to buy two instead of one. As soon as we got back in the car we took a couple of bites out of each one of them. I said "I should have taken a picture of them before we ate them to put on my blog. When I opened the box after we got home, I decided to take a picture of the remains. Here they are.

Then I put them on a plate, and it wasn't long before both of them were history. Ummm they were good, but not worth over $3.00 each. That's ridiculous. We won't be buying any more, but we did enjoy these two. All we bought at the mall was more stuff to eat. We each had a slice of pizza for lunch and went by Harry & David's and bought some dark chocolate truffles. Next week we're cuttin' down. lol
p.s. In case you're wondering - that little red and blue thing on the red velvet cupcake is a candy decoration that identifies it.

DATES, PRUNES & FRESH BREAD

Today is Thankful Thursday. I've already done a post on my Charlotte's Weblog blog for Trim the Tree Thursdays, but we just got home from Sprouts and I was thinking to myself how thankful I am for all the good food that is available to us in the U.S. Specifically, I was eating a fresh sweet prune and thinking about doing a post for Thankful Thursday.

I've always liked prunes, but I wasn't "in love" with them, but since I've discovered the soft fresh plump ones at Sprouts, I think I'm in love. I know I'm in love with their fresh Medjool dates. I did a post about them a while back. And, I love fresh baked french bread. Another favorite thing of ours is okra and Sprouts is about the only place I can always find it. Tonight we're having fried okra and left over goulash from last night - and french bread, of course.

Ginger of Enchanting Cottage asked me if I was blogging on both of my blogs now. I told her it was her fault that I was "hooked" on blogging. She's the one that got me started. Now she's taking a break from it and has not been posting except on her Sunday blog for Spiritual Sundays. I'll bet she doesn't take a very long break though, cause breaking the blogging habit isn't easy.

Thanksgiving is just a week away. I have so much to be thankful for that I couldn't begin to list everything. So, right now, I'll just limit it to dates, prunes and french bread - and okra - and left over goulash.

Go visit Iris at Grace Alone for lots of links to Thankful Thursday posts.

Another Food Item

Never thought I'd ever go to my refrigerator and take a picture that could potentially be seen around the world, but here it is - the top shelf. On this day there were only three of them there, but sometimes there is almost a dozen. No, I'm not talking about the eggs. I'm talking about Yoplait yogurt. I eat one of these almost every day. Key Lime Pie is my favorite, although when I'm eating Lemon Burst I think that is my favorite. The berry ones are very good too. Actually, they're all good.

I promise, this will be my last food post for awhile. Tomorrow it's our kitchen makeover. Hope you'll come back to visit.

Almonds Every Morning

Yesterday it was dark chocolate. Today it is almonds. Almost every morning, after my shredded wheat, I watch TV while I drink two cups of coffee and eat a handful of these almonds. The almonds also come from Trader Joe's. I use to buy the large bags of almonds at Costco, but decided the ones at Trader Joe's were better although they are a little more expensive.

Dark Chocolate

I usually post something on my blog early each morning. This morning I wasn't inspired to write about anything, so I went back downstairs and told my husband I didn't think I would post anything today. This would be the first day since I started that I didn't do a new post. We were watching the news on TV and a commercial came on where the woman was talking about dark chocolate. My husband said, "You could write about dark chocolate". Great idea!!! The pictures at the top are my stash of Trader Joe's dark chocolate. You may wonder why I have so much of it. For a while they were out of this brand and I had to try other chocolate bars. None of the others were as good as these, so now when I go to Trader Joe's I pick up several bars. They're packaged in threes.
You will notice the one with the square missing. This is the way I eat it, one square at a time. Although -- I do cheat a little and sometimes take two or three squares. I've heard dark chocolate is good for you.
