Since I am
almost a vintage person, I thought it would be fun to post some vintage 4th of July pictures. So here they are. Independence Day has always been special to me and I love it that America's independence has been celebrated through the years.
The flag below has 48 stars. This is the kind of flag we saluted when I was in school.

ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte, Love the vintage 4th of July cards. I was just telling someone how distressing it is for me to watch a ball game in the 7th inning when they sing God Bless America and young men in the bleechers do not remove their caps. I was taught respect for the flag, hand over heart and while I too am almost vintage, I could never stop doing that. I do realize that there are many people in our country who are not American citizens and do not bear alligence to our flag so that would account for many with caps on. Still.....it hurts to see that because deep in my heart I know some of them are Americans. I will now leave my soapbox. Your vintage card brought back "vintage beliefs" as someone recently told me when I shared similiar views. Blessings
