The subject of my Spiritual Sundays post today is something I found in the book I'm currently reading. The name of the book is The American Prophecies by Michael D. Evans. The subtitle of the book is Ancient Scriptures Reveal Our Nation's Future. This is a very interesting book and I recommend it.Chapter 16 starts out with the following quote:
While the troops of Mahomet II surrounded Constantinople in 1493 and it had to be decided if the Balkans would be under Christian or Mohammedan dominion for centuries, a local church council in the besieged city discussed the following problems: What color had the eyes of the Virgin Mary? What gender do the angels have? If a fly falls in sanctified water, is the fly sanctified or the water defiled? - Richard Wurmbrand
When I read that quote I thought of how our country and many of our churches are pretty much ignoring Bible prophecy and discussing things that are about as important as these things they were discussing back in 1493.
Here is another quote that immediately followed the above quote. This one was by Billy Graham. "If God does not judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah." I don't know about you, but I don't think God needs to apologize to anyone for anything. Let's pray that America wakes up before it is too late.

yes it's amazing at times how the trivia can take up so much of our time - we're all guilty of it!! but thankfully each day gives us the opportunity to start afresh and be the best that we can be for Jesus. Judith
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteWe do indeed live at a time where we humans are not taking life or the after life seriously. More than ever, we are becoming a Godless society. For shame! Seems we humans have been this way all down through history. We have become very self indulgent nations and it's getting worse by the day. Makes one wonder what the next generation will be facing. Thank the Lord we can face tomorrow because He lives! With every step we take, it is one step closer to going Home! But we must pray and live our lives in such a way as to leave a stepping stone of faith to those who come after us. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Sandi
I am very interested in prophecy and I would be interested in reading this book. Thank you Charlotte, for suggesting it.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Charlotte :),
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very interesting book you're reading. What a reminder of how times have changed, perhaps we need to return to some of those teachings and times.
Have a blessed day,
Kathi :)
oh what points to ponder...and what points to pray upon!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I think the whole world has gone liberal, not many people believe in prophecies these days. I do!!
ReplyDeleteI've always heard that quote about God apologizing, didn't know Billy Graham said it. I think he was just trying to make a point! I agree!!
