Hello Charlotte, This is one of my very favoured verses. Just lately a man wrote that the Bible could not be proved. I told him, "What about the dead sea scrolls".. he came back with. "They might have proved the Old Testament, but there is nothing in the dead sea scrolls to prove Mr Jesus of the New Testament. I gave him back this verse, with many others... I love it, it really softens my heart at all that Jesus is. xxx

Lovely blog today, Charlotte....a beautiful, beautiful message from God. Every Christmas I am thankful for Handel's gorgeous musical rendition of these verses, too.
Praise God that He always keeps His word and he sent Jesus - - and again He keeps his WORD and says Jesus is coming back for us to rule and reign with him.
I memorized these verses as a young girl and remember them still. I wrote a program for our bus children based on these verses. The program is tonight. I'm praying the words will bless their families who only come at Christmas.
I found myself singing this (from Handel's "Messiah") - there aren't too many words more thrilling than these! Unto US - you and me and everyone! - a son - THE SON - is given - became human, entered our world, given as a sacrifice!
